I was 16 when this song came out and felt completely misunderstood, 14 years later living a life I always wanted, finally at peace with the world despite the chaos and still finding this song so beautiful. For a long time, I felt I was trapped in a dark maze and couldn't find my way out and at times I'd get comfortable just being in there never wanting to get out, but one day I didn't want to be in the dark anymore and yearned for that light. Although I didn't know him personally, I know what it's like to feel like you no longer belong in this world and want to end it on your own, but it's all about finding your own way and finding that light within your darkness. Who would of thought years later that's what it came down to? I cried on my way to work when I heard the news about Chester, just so sad. You'd think it's suicidal, but it's really beautiful. I was in high school when this song came out and it was another favorite that I had on repeat, even on my Myspace page lol! I was in a dark phase in high school and this song always seemed to calm me down.
