Beautifully shot, thoughtfully researched, skilfully acted/directed/produced, and masterfully scored – even as my brain attempted to nitpick the production I really couldn’t deny that it was put together by intelligent people who are skilled at their craft.
It is a damn good movie by any standard, period. Jerrold Tarog’s Heneral Luna is not “pretty good for a Filipino movie”, no matter what Facebook might be telling you this week. This review contains spoilers! Yay spoilers!
